Took an L while taking an L

 December 14, 2020

HELLOOOOOOO!!! I hope you all had a great week! I also hope that some of you TELL ME ABOUT IT because I have no idea what some of y'all are up to nowadays. Anyways, my week was sick, here are the highlights:

Yesterday we took the L train in the wrong direction by accident, so we took an L while literally taking an L. It was pretty funny.

I went on my AP exchange and got to visit a place called New Rochelle for the day. That means I got to be in a car for the first time in AWHILE since I have been in subway areas my ENTIRE mission. On my way there, I drove through The Bronx, right through my last area! It was so awesome seeing everything again! I spent the day with Elder Davis, one of my previous companions, which was WAY awesome reuniting for a day! We had so much fun! It also snowed that day! It was great!

We are teaching a few amazing people but Juan is our favorite! We found him about a week and a half ago, and he is just SO willing to turn his whole life over to God and accepts everything we teach. He absolutely loves our Facebook page and shares pretty much all of our posts, and he is so excited to be participating in Light The World! I gave him my Light The World beanie from last year because I have 2 now. He loves it and wears it all the time! One of our members walked him home after a lesson we had at the chapel, and apparently they talked for AWHILE and exchanged numbers and are best friends now. So cool! Please pray that everything goes smoothly as he progresses towards baptism, and that he can have spiritual experiences as he reads, prays, and comes to church! Our friends Noemy and Omar are also doing well! Pray for them too so that they can commit to a baptismal date!

Our ward is probably the best ward I have ever seen... like in my whole life. They feel like family to me, honestly. I never want to leave them! They are so good at welcoming and loving the people we bring, and I don't think I have ever left church without at least 1 member giving us some sort of present. Usually some members bring us food on Sundays, but this week the ward gave us matching New York beanies, brownies, rice krispy treats, and Christmas cards! Ugh I love them.

Okay, that's all my updates. Sorry for taking so many pictures every week haha. Gmail doesn't even let me include all of them, so I am attaching a few of the best ones into the email. BYEEEEEEE have a great week!

August 9, 2021 Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great week! I'm writing this email having spent 110% of my energy this week on the work of the Lord. I almost have no energy left other than the promise in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me". I'm going into my 6th month with little sleep and an enormous workload, and It's catching up to me now, but I'll be okay. I seriously feel like the only thing keeping me going is Jesus Christ, which is an incredible feeling having given everything to the Lord. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm definitely not complaining, but I'm insanely grateful for the opportunity to serve. There is nothing more fulfilling than this work, and even though I feel like I've given everything I have, I still wish I could give more. We picked up 31 new missionaries from the airport this week! Having to organize the logistics for their travel, hotel, and meals was pretty chaotic,...

Goodbye New York City

September 13, 2021 It pains me to say that this was my last week as a missionary. We had a general authority (Elder Bassett) visit the mission all week, and Elder Call and I were in charge of the technology. I could probably write a whole email about all the miracles, struggles, and work that went into that. Maybe that's a story for another day. We picked up my replacement, Elder Wolfgramm, and have been training him on some things before I go. It has been an absolute blast being in a trio with them. I reflected a lot this week on the past 2 years and the things I have learned. I want to make a brief summary of my mission and say what I learned from each of my areas and companions! It will probably be boring for you, but it's mostly just for me to write down some thoughts to look back on one day haha. Mexico MTC - Elder Martin I learned spanish, kinda. Elder Martin has also taught me a lot about friendship and loyalty. He is SUCH a good friend. I am still learning from him ev...

EMERGENCY *MUST READ*

November 9, 2020 What's up!!!! I'm not sure if you all heard, but the elections were this week. We don't watch the news or anything so I received the update when the ENTIRE city went out onto the streets with cowbells, trumpets, frying pans, and other noisemakers to celebrate. It was crazy. New York is very very very blue. That's all I will say. I emailed President Teuscher about my concerns with my companion's obedience, and he said "I will see what I can do". Well he actually did a LOT to help! He made a whole PowerPoint presentation on obedience and shared it in a mission-wide devotional. We also had a mission leadership meeting in Queens this week and had a big discussion about how to help the 27 new incoming missionaries be obedient... the answer: WE ARE OBEDIENT OURSELVES. We made plans to do a 40 day fast as a mission from EVERYTHING we may cut corners on when it comes to rules. Anyway, I feel like my emails to President sparked a big mission-wide f...
