August 9, 2021

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great week! I'm writing this email having spent 110% of my energy this week on the work of the Lord. I almost have no energy left other than the promise in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me". I'm going into my 6th month with little sleep and an enormous workload, and It's catching up to me now, but I'll be okay. I seriously feel like the only thing keeping me going is Jesus Christ, which is an incredible feeling having given everything to the Lord. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm definitely not complaining, but I'm insanely grateful for the opportunity to serve. There is nothing more fulfilling than this work, and even though I feel like I've given everything I have, I still wish I could give more.

We picked up 31 new missionaries from the airport this week! Having to organize the logistics for their travel, hotel, and meals was pretty chaotic, but they were all so excited and amazing!

MLC was absolutely fantastic. We prepared for it for days and it totally paid off, everyone seemed to love it.

I found out that on September 7th (the last week of my mission), a general authority is coming for a mission tour. It will be an entire week of powerful mission-wide meetings, and I'm in charge of organizing it all. I learned that he wants half of it in person, and half over zoom (like a live AND virtual audience at the same time)... so they want me to figure out how to get multiple TV's, high quality broadcast cameras, and microphones connected to Zoom so that its "first class". I was told that I can go buy fancy broadcast equipment if I need to, because they want it NICE. I don't know where to even start to figure that out, but I'm pretty terrified about messing it all up in front of a general authority. If anyone knows anything about that, please let me know ðŸ˜…

The Holmes' 5 year old grandson, Graham, came to New York this week! He is the cutest and most energetic little kid, it was so fun having him work with us. When President was too busy to entertain him, he asked us to take him around the city a little bit to keep him busy. It was fun!

I absolutely love my companions. They are some of the best missionaries in the whole mission, and I feel so lucky. Elder Money goes home this Thursday which is super sad. Elder Call is literally the most amazing, Christ-like person I know, I love him. Every day with them is life changing.

Our friend Aaron is getting baptized this month! I love him so much and I'm really excited for him! We have barely had time to find or teach, but the fact that God has blessed us with 2 people recently that are ready for baptism is incredible. Even though we hardly proselytize, we have given God 100% effort, and the blessings have been coming. I'm grateful beyond words for everything God has given me and for what he has given the people we teach as they start to live the gospel. It changes lives!

Love you all, keep grind'n. The Lord loves effort.

- Elder Webster

Goodbye New York City

September 13, 2021 It pains me to say that this was my last week as a missionary. We had a general authority (Elder Bassett) visit the mission all week, and Elder Call and I were in charge of the technology. I could probably write a whole email about all the miracles, struggles, and work that went into that. Maybe that's a story for another day. We picked up my replacement, Elder Wolfgramm, and have been training him on some things before I go. It has been an absolute blast being in a trio with them. I reflected a lot this week on the past 2 years and the things I have learned. I want to make a brief summary of my mission and say what I learned from each of my areas and companions! It will probably be boring for you, but it's mostly just for me to write down some thoughts to look back on one day haha. Mexico MTC - Elder Martin I learned spanish, kinda. Elder Martin has also taught me a lot about friendship and loyalty. He is SUCH a good friend. I am still learning from him ev...

EMERGENCY *MUST READ*

November 9, 2020 What's up!!!! I'm not sure if you all heard, but the elections were this week. We don't watch the news or anything so I received the update when the ENTIRE city went out onto the streets with cowbells, trumpets, frying pans, and other noisemakers to celebrate. It was crazy. New York is very very very blue. That's all I will say. I emailed President Teuscher about my concerns with my companion's obedience, and he said "I will see what I can do". Well he actually did a LOT to help! He made a whole PowerPoint presentation on obedience and shared it in a mission-wide devotional. We also had a mission leadership meeting in Queens this week and had a big discussion about how to help the 27 new incoming missionaries be obedient... the answer: WE ARE OBEDIENT OURSELVES. We made plans to do a 40 day fast as a mission from EVERYTHING we may cut corners on when it comes to rules. Anyway, I feel like my emails to President sparked a big mission-wide f...
