Zone Conference Week

What's good!!!

This week was Zone Conference week, so we were running all over the mission giving trainings and making sure everything went smoothly. It was my last Zone Conference ever, which was sad, but I was honestly pretty relieved after it was over because its really stressful organizing the whole thing. Departing missionaries are always asked to share their testimony at their last Zone Conference, but because I attended ALL the zone conferences, I got to do it every day.

We dropped Elder Money off at the airport on Thursday morning! It was super sad! I love that guy. He was such a great companion!

Elder Call and I actually had time to do normal missionary work yesterday for the first time in months! We grabbed a stack of Book of Mormons and rode the subway up and down Manhattan for a few hours and passed out as many as we could. Elder Call met a guy named Nephi who isn't even a member of the church. It was so cool. I met a guy from The Bronx that spit on me. That was less cool.

Other than that, not much else happened this week. President asked us to start working on the transfer board for next transfer even though it's not for another month. We have a busy couple of weeks in front of us, so he wanted us to get it done in advance. Of course, he has the final say on things, but we have been very prayerful in assigning missionaries to their future areas and companions. Exciting stuff.

August 9, 2021 Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great week! I'm writing this email having spent 110% of my energy this week on the work of the Lord. I almost have no energy left other than the promise in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me". I'm going into my 6th month with little sleep and an enormous workload, and It's catching up to me now, but I'll be okay. I seriously feel like the only thing keeping me going is Jesus Christ, which is an incredible feeling having given everything to the Lord. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm definitely not complaining, but I'm insanely grateful for the opportunity to serve. There is nothing more fulfilling than this work, and even though I feel like I've given everything I have, I still wish I could give more. We picked up 31 new missionaries from the airport this week! Having to organize the logistics for their travel, hotel, and meals was pretty chaotic,...

Goodbye New York City

September 13, 2021 It pains me to say that this was my last week as a missionary. We had a general authority (Elder Bassett) visit the mission all week, and Elder Call and I were in charge of the technology. I could probably write a whole email about all the miracles, struggles, and work that went into that. Maybe that's a story for another day. We picked up my replacement, Elder Wolfgramm, and have been training him on some things before I go. It has been an absolute blast being in a trio with them. I reflected a lot this week on the past 2 years and the things I have learned. I want to make a brief summary of my mission and say what I learned from each of my areas and companions! EMERGENCY MUST READ

November 9, 2020 What's up!!!! I'm not sure if you all heard, but the elections were this week. We don't watch the news or anything so I received the update when the ENTIRE city went out onto the streets with cowbells, trumpets, frying pans, and other noisemakers to celebrate. It was crazy. New York is very very very blue. That's all I will say. I emailed President Teuscher about my concerns with my companion's obedience, and he said "I will see what I can do". Well he actually did a LOT to help! He made a whole PowerPoint presentation on obedience and shared it in a mission-wide devotional. We also had a mission leadership meeting in Queens this week and had a big discussion about how to help the 27 new incoming missionaries be obedient... the answer: WE ARE OBEDIENT OURSELVES.
