The Field is White, But Not Ready to Harvest

January 20, 2020 This week was a tough one, not going to lie. But just like farming, there is a season for harvesting. We think that this is the season to plant seeds. Harvesting season will come soon enough! It felt like all of our most interested people took 1 step forward, and 2 steps back. We are back to square one on a lot of people, and some people got off all the squares in general haha. Its been tough but we have been staying happy and positive with cookies, blowing bubbles (even when its like 7 degrees), and making snow men. I have lots of pictures to show for it too!  This week I went on an exchange with Elder Holmes! He is from Tucson, Arizona, and we actually worked together at the temple before we came here, so I knew him before I started my mission. It was super cool being companions with him for the day, and we had a lot of fun! Remember Vidiana? From my first week in the mission field? We managed to get her into a 6 month addiction recovery program and I ha...

I GOT POOPED ON

January 13, 2020 I don't even know where to begin explaining this week. So many random, weird things happened! So for this email, I will give brief summaries of the craziest things that happened to me! 1- I got pooped on by a bird and had to walk around all night covered in poop. Pretty embarrassing and I got some weird looks. Oh man it was gross and no one wanted to talk to me 2- I almost caught the apartment on fire by making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!!! There was no room on the counter, so I put the bread bag on top of the stove temporarily. While I was spreading my peanut butter, I leaned back onto the stove for some reason and started to hear that clicking noise before the fire ignites. I almost caught the whole bag of bread on fire and who knows what wouldve happened if I didnt quickly realize what was happening. Oh man. 3- I saw a fight! These 2 guys were YELLING on the street very aggressively for awhile about who knows what. 1 of them calmly walked ba...

Best Week of the Year!

January 6, 2020 Happy 2020! I say this every week, but it has been so great! My week started with New Years Eve/Day! I went on exchanges with Elder Davis (not the one from my MTC District), and I spent the day in his assigned area in Far Rockaway! I definitely learned SO much from him, but specifically learned from his example of opening his mouth! The guy is so bold and talks to everyone he sees! Trying to learn from his example, my goal this week was to try talking to EVERYONE, and I ended up finding a lot more interested people, and we were A LOT more successful when I would forget my fears and open my mouth! I definitely grew as a missionary from that exchange! Far Rockaway is on the coast (still in Queens), and was a nice change from my usual scenery in Richmond Hill. While I was there, we had dinner with a family from The Philipines who spoke English/Tagalog, and a lesson with a family from Africa who spoke English/French. It made me think of my amigos Elder Ashby, Post, and ...
