Wow. I had some really special and sacred experiences this week, I am excited to tell you about it!
Since this is President Holmes' first time planning transfers, he trusted us to make a rough draft transfer board because we know more about the missionaries than he does. So, about 95% of my time this week was spent making adjustments to the transfer board and assigning missionaries to their new areas and new companions. Not many missionaries ever get to PLAN AN ENTIRE TRANSFER, so I am very grateful for that opportunity and trust President has in us.
I was reminded of one of my favorite General Conference talks where Elder Rasband speaks about the process of how missionaries are assigned to a mission. He, being a brand new apostle, was asked to assign a missionary somewhere. When asked where he thought a missionary should go, he said, "I don't know, and I didn't know I could know!". Elder Eyring responded, "Brother Rasband, pay closer attention, and you too could know." President Holmes assured Elder Money and I that we CAN know where missionaries need to be transferred to IF we relied on the spirit. So, this week, Elder Money and I had our notebooks, pens, and laptops and prayed our hearts out to know where people needed to be transferred to. In the process, I learned about something called Divine Discontent.
I learned that Divine Discontent is one of the few negative feelings that is given from God. It is a negative feeling that drives us to become more like Christ. For example, guilt or shame sometimes motivates us to repent and come closer to Christ. With planning transfers, Elder Money and I felt very strong Divine Discontent when we placed a missionary in the wrong area, or with the wrong companion. I don't know how else to describe it, but there is a RIGHT and WRONG answer to where and who we serve with. The spirit definitely told us when some of our ideas were right or wrong. For that reason, we made lots and lots of potential scenarios for transfers until everything felt 100% correct. When we finally finished, we showed President Holmes our draft, and he said "I don't know how you knew, but I was thinking the exact same thing." He said that he could feel the spirit confirm to him that (almost all of) our ideas were what God wanted, and what that spirit had told him during his interviews with missionaries. We were so happy that he was able to recognize how the spirit played a role in our draft ! It was a long spiritually, physically, and mentally draining process, but it came out pretty dang good if you ask me. I am confident that every missionary is going to where they need to go, with who they need to go with.
The next morning, we got a phone call from President Holmes. He said, "I woke up at 2 in the morning and had a very strong impression that [a missionary] needs to be the next Assistant". We were caught off guard. This missionary was supposed to be going home soon. He has never been a Zone Leader before. We never considered him to be an assistant before, but he is PERFECT. We felt the spirit so so so strongly. President got approval from Salt Lake to EXTEND that missionaries mission so that he could serve as an assistant. I admire President's willingness to act on his spiritual promptings (and to the missionary for extending his mission)! You'll have to wait till next week to find out who it is
We pick him up in about an hour and I am very excited!

In conclusion, I really felt the spirit work through Elder Money and I this week and it was amazing. Also, we had an amazing lesson with a guy named George, and he is getting baptized this Saturday! YAYYYYY!
Love you all, keep grindin'
